Tidemills Search!

Today, I went looking for the Wryneck that has been reported at Tidemills over the last couple of days, I did so without great expectations, looking for Wrynecks anywhere is a pretty thankless task at the best of times, looking for them a Tidemills is like looking for a needle in a needlestack!! Needless to say I couldn't find it, as far as I know, none of the other birders present found it either, probably reappear tomorrow!!

Despite this failure a pretty enjoyable morning, lots of birds in the bushes, good numbers of Blackcaps, Chiffchaffs and Common Whitethroats. A Lesser Whitethroat, a few Song Thrushes, lots of Robins and Dunnocks. Steady stream of Swallows buzzing about. Good numbers of Goldfinch, Linnet and pleasing to see Greenfinch, there were also several Reed Buntings knocking about! Highlights were the Wheatears and Whinchats with 5 of of the former and 3 of the latter seen!

Weather was grey and moody, so I'm blaming that for the quality of the pictures below!!

Stonechat, a few about but not as cooperative as usual

Great Black-backed Gull, had a quick look at the sea, couldn't turn any of the BHGs into Phalaropes or Sabines

Dunnock, so many Dunnocks!

Plenty of action meant I wasn't that disappointed with the lack of Wryneck action, it was also nice to see much less dog poop than usual!! Despite the large numbers of dog walkers,I only saw a couple of bits and I didn't tread in either of em. Result!!
