Last year,on the spur of the moment, I booked a 7 hour pelagic boat trip in Cornwall, like you do!! I then realised that driving all the way to Cornwall for the day was a bit unrealistic so had to book a weeks holiday around it!!! That's how things spiral out of control around here😀!!!
We travelled down on Saturday the 6th of September a fairly uneventful drive,a couple of Buzzards seen, a few Red Kites, lots of Swallows pushing through on migration and Stonehenge spotted from the car!! We arrived too early for our accommodation so headed down to Falmouth to check out the marina where the boat leaves from in the morning. We ended up at Pendennis Point below the Castle, yes not even checked in yet and she's wangled a castle visit😂!! Didn't go in obviously but still!!!😍 It was very windy from the point and not that much about, though I got my first Shag of the holiday and that's always a bonus!! Few pics below, most of the landscape by Margie, birds by me !

Not 100% sure if this is a Shag or a Cormorant, head shape seems to suggest Cormorant, but bill colour and shape seems better for Shag! |

We arrived at the cottage, a Sparrowhawk greeted us, nice views across the fields and some very strange clouds!
