Seaford Wander

Hoping for some inward migration, I headed to Seaford Head, things started ok with a Corn Bunting on the Dungheap and a Wheatear on the Golf Course!

Arrived just after Sunrise

Lots of Rabbits today!

Corn Bunting, unfortunately I had stayed on the main path and the Corn Bunting was on the other side!

Herring Gull, flying through

Belle Tout

Wheatear unfortunately didn't hang around for me to get close

Another blurred flight shot becoming my forte!!

Headed down to the Coast, no Stonechats here which was a surprise, however great views of several Skylarks chasing each other around!!
Linnet, quite a few of these about as well

Skylark lurking in the grass

This one the most posy

I headed along the cliff top, fairly quite, Skylarks, Meadow Pipits and Rock Pipits the best of it! But a Willow Warbler "in off" which landed briefly on the fence was interesting! Didn't hang around before flying off inland!

Herring Gull patrolling the Cliff

Rock Pipit on the edge!

Pretty sure this is a Willow Warbler rather than a Chiffchaff, looks long-winged and has pale legs

Meadow Pipit

I headed down to the bottom of Hope Gap, no real change still no Stonechats, headed up Hope Gap, couple of Song Thrushes were giving it large, one either side of the Gap. Several Common Whitethroats doing display flights and more Linnets! Went across and down past Harry's Bush, still quiet, think the cold North wind, which was now picking up, was keep most sensible birds in France 😢

Another Skylark watching the world go by

Another Pipit finishing a display flight

Shelduck, one of 4 flying around Hope Gap

Another Rabbit, told you there were lots!

This Buzzard rolled in making a lot of noise for no apparent reason

Blackbird flew in and posed Heroically

I'd reached the Cuckmere, there were four Whimbrel and a Dunlin along the banks, couple of Egrets flew about and a nice showy Reed Bunting was singing! Still no Stonechats!!! Getting a bit worried now!
Rock Pipit on the beach

Whimbrel

Pretty well camouflaged

Little Egret

Reed Bunting

Canada Geese

Still a few Curlew about
I headed back along the Cliff to Hope Bottom, finally finding a couple of pairs of Stonechat, Hurrah! I watched the Fulmars from the top of the stairs, a Diver flew past and a distant flock of Scoter. A female Wheatear flew in off but landed out of sight!! Not sure on the Diver think probably a Red-throat, opinions welcome!
Oystercatchers on the rocks below the Cliff

Diver Sp bill looks quite strong

Head down posture, suggests Red-throated Diver

The Oystercatchers took off

Fulmar along the cliff

Another Common Whitethroat

Common Scoter, told you they were distant

Another Whimbrel, four more on the rocks

I bumped into a group of Birders from Shoreham, but they had seen much the same as me, I decided to call it a day!
At the carpark having been caught out before the last thing I do is put the camera away, this paid off when a Peregrine went over while I was changing me boots!!

Peregrine

Not a bad walk bit quiet for the time of year and a bit cold, though I was thermalled up!!  Hopefully some good stuff will turn up soon!!!
