Hurst Walkabout.

Bit of a late start today due to recovering from yesterdays mountaineering!! So after a leisurely breakfast Margie and I made a circuit of Hurst, down Bullfinch Lane  across the fields, then back over the Danny fields!

Started well with a Red Kite being harassed by a Rook over Orchard Close, the Cherry Trees are in full Blossom down there and look lovely.

Bullfinch lane, was sadly lacking in Bullfinches, but did have a Goldfinch, a few Blue Tits and a calling Chiffchaff in a Willow Tree which showed well eventually.

Blue Tit, lucky I was there as Margie only got pics of it's bottom

We crossed the fields at the bottom, Skylarks singing and  a brief burst of Yellowhammer song, one Yellowhammer in Yellowhammer alley, however the hedge there has been greatly reduced so whether they will breed this year, I don't know, fingers crossed! A Raven cronked by but in general pretty quiet a couple of distant Buzzards.

Skylark, don't worry only one pic after yesterday's surfeit of pics!

We crossed the road and headed across the Danny Fields, pretty muddy, only birds of note were a pair of Mistle Thrush which showed ok, would have liked them a bit closer, along the footpath behind the high street, we had a nice Brimstone butterfly which actually landed!!

Brimstone Butterfly, I'm sure Margie would have taken some pictures if she could have seen it😃
