Margie and I had a walk from Woodsmill to the River Adur. As the title suggests it was quiet, grey overcast conditions didn't help. The bird count was low although a flock of eleven Mistle Thrushes was a pleasant surprise. A few Yellowhammers dotted about the route and three Swifts were nice to see, the Hurst ones seem to have left and I'm pretty sure Swifty in our box has fledged!! A few pics from our wander below!

Probably a few too many Yellowhammer pics but he did pose well!!!
My husband said the blue butterfly looks like a Common Blue? Is the red flower Scarlet Pimpernel? Lovely pics of the Yellowhammer.
ReplyDeleteI would say yes on both counts, seen a few Blue Butterflies the last couple of weeks think they've all been Commons but I'm no expert so left it blank!
