We like to do a ferry trip on our Holidays and this year was no exception, we went from Uig to Tarbet, on Harris and back as foot passengers, cheap as chips and pretty much guaranteed some sort of action. Lovely weather and we had some good sightings, notably a brief view of a Minke Whale that disappeared across the bow before I could get a shot, three sightings of Dolphins not sure what sort, an Arctic Skua, a White-tailed Eagle following a fishing boat, Puffins were dotted about the sea, as were Guillemots and Razorbills. There were Gannets in a feeding frenzy, in the harbour were Black Guillemots, Great Northern Diver, a pair of Red-throated Divers, some Common Terns and a large Seal. At Tarbet there were Rock Doves and a Cuckoo flew over the harbour. There also a good number of Jellyfish about including some huge barrel types! A few of our pictures below!

Another cracking day. Finished off with a delicious fish and chips in Uig even had Haddock without batter as the Gluten Free option, bonus! Always worth a sea crossing when you are in the Hebrides!
