Wet Wolstonbury!

With bright sunshine when we left the house and the BBC weather App showing wall to wall sunshine we headed to Wolstonbury Hill, where of course it p#ssed down pretty much the whole time we were there!πŸ˜‚ Of course as a hardcore birder this was no problem for meπŸ˜ŒπŸ˜‚, Margie wasn't impressed and went home halfway through!! Birding wise it wasn't too bad, when we ducked out from under the tree we was hiding under.πŸ˜‚ The bushes were busy, best was a Spotted Flycatcher, couple of Bullfinches, couple of Blackcaps, a lot of Chiffchaffs and a big flock of Goldfinches. We also saw a Green Woodpecker, 3 Kestrel hunting the hill and a Raven seeing off a Buzzard. It felt like there was something mega in the scrub, which is why I stuck it out, but it didn't happen!!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜’ A few pics below, the quality dictated by the gloomy weather.

A picture of an Alpaca taken by Margie on the way home, apparently the Alpaca said it was just as wet and annoyed as Margie was. I bought her a bunch of flowers too say sorry later!!

Not a bad morning, though probably about an hours birding with 3 hours lurking under trees!! Been a few good bits in the garden lately with an Elephant Hawkmoth Caterpillar, a new small Frog and a spectacular Hornet Mimic Hoverfly which unfortunately I couldn't get a pic off. We also had two fledgling Goldfinch being fed by their parents a very late brood
