Week in Wales Pt 4

Day 6 Thursday 11th of May

We decided to visit World's End today to try and find some Grouse, obviously the best chance of seeing Grouse is to arrive pre-dawn and wait patently for them to appear, we got there at 10.30!😢😏😂 Still amazingly we did see some Grouse, though mainly flying and distant and all Red Grouse, no sign of any Black Grouse! On the plus side we did get lots of sightings of Whinchats, Meadow Pipits and an obliging Wheatear, and the the Scenery is pretty cool as well!!

Red Grouse
Some of Margie's scenery shots below.

Think she captured the big sky and open vistas quite well!

Whinchat sadly distant with heat haze!! In Wales I know, must be climate change!

Meadow Pipit

Common Whitethroat

Whinchat

Very pretty moth!

Stonechat

Wheatear

Margie got some more spectacular scenery as we left the area!

We visited Llangollen , for lunch can recommend the Cornmill near the river, lots of Gluten Free Options, even a couple of puddings hurrah!!!

The River through the town is very impressive

See the little green dot in the middle of the stream? There was a Dipper on it!! Didn't have me Camera though😢

Gluten Free Chocolate Brownie!!

Sadly this desert was not Gluten Free, Margie said it was the best pud she'd ever had, she can be so cruel😢

No visit to Llangollen would be complete with out a visit to the Fudge Factory, sadly the fudge didn't last long enough for pictures!!

 Another good day in Wales!!!
