Ashdown Forest

Margie and I had a wander up Ashdown Forest today, the Gorse is in full bloom and looking magnificent in the glorious sunshine, lovely blue skies though a bit nippy, was hoping to find a Woodlark and wasn't disappointed and we had a few Dartford Warblers in various places including a nice posy singing male. Lot's of singing Chiffchaff's but no sign or sound of any Willow Warblers or Redstarts as yet, did see a Nuthatch, a Treecreeper and several Mistle Thrushes. I survived another encounter with rampant farm animals.

A few  of mine and Margie's pictures below.

Chiffchaff

Dartford Warbler (would of been nice if it had it sat on one of the Flower covered Gorse stems!)

Finally on some Flowers, too far away!

Another Chiffchaff

Woodlark, a couple running about on the deck, never close enough for decent pics

Mistle Thrush

Display flight, short tail and thicker wings than Skylark

The miniature Beasts, to be fair they were cute, had to stop Margie taking one home

Another less posy Dartford

the modern world intruding! Margie finally got a pic of one!!

A nice walk, bit quiet but a bit of a late start so happy with what we saw, on way home we called into Weirwood (hide end) but saw nothing of interest,  then called into Plaw Hatch Organic Farm Shop where there was plenty of interest and I spent far too much money, notably on an Easter Chocolate Bunny which will hopefully last until next Sunday!! Though I'm not that confident to be honest!

Yum!!!
