Autumnal Patch Walk

A real Autumnal feel to an early morning stroll around the Patch today, bit quiet as well a Kestrel was on the wires on the first field but nothing much else about, a Deer in the field but it didn't hang around for pics, the Glades were quiet a few Wrens zipping about ,the odd chiffy and Blackcap and a quick view of a Jay, but not the migration fest I'd hoped for, even the dead tree let me down although the bushes slightly up the hill held some warblers, more Blackcaps ,a couple of Whitethroats and some Willow/Chiffs as with yesterday at Seaford a lot of Robins about and some Swallows going through in small groups. Went past the church not a lot about doubled back along the lane where at last I hit a big flock of birds, mostly Long-tailed Tits but good numbers of Blue Tits as well, with a few Blackcaps ,Chiffies but star bird was a Spot Fly the posed briefly for pics, difficult to say how many birds in the flock as they were back and forth along the hedge and a large Oak, but substantial numbers! Back into the core patch area a flock of Goldfinch with some youngsters, these seemed very young chasing and begging from the parents so presumably a late brood, there was also a family of Bullfinch in this area, I saw a Male and a couple of Juveniles but were to quick for pics. Also seen or heard, Yellowhammer, Nuthatch, GSW and Green Woodpecker . The Kestrel was still on the wire when I returned to the car some 2 hours later so think it had probably had a slow day as well 😢 A few pics below ,not very good I'm afraid light was poor, birds were flighty and I was half asleep or it seemed like it anyway! Although Long-tailed Tits are always cute!
