Two for one today!! Which suggests I ain't seen much this weekend,๐ข although has been glorious weather, my favourite cold and sunny! The birding has been quite hard work and I totally failed to find a Ring Ouzel on either day!! Saturday at Seaford on me own, apart from the hordes of tourists and dog walkers obvs and Sunday, with Margie at RSPB Pulborough Brooks!! Both were quiet, but saw some good bits, pics from Seaford below. The Pulborough bit is after that!
Golden Belle Tout, was gonna go there today but the A27 was shut and would have been a nigtmare to get back! |
Flock of Long-tailed Tits was the highlight of Hope Gap, with a couple of Blackcaps, pretty much the only other thing of interest |
Stonechats, were lots of these about |
Rabbit, lots of these as well! |
Peregrine probably the highlight of the walk perched on the cliffs |
Rock Pipit also perched on the cliff |
Dunnock |
Kestrel, not as obliging as last week |
Swallows, quite a few flying about the fields below the small wood, several sitting on the fence, getting their feathers in order for the long flight to Africa |
Goldfinch, fence was fairly busy |
Meadow Pipit |
Soft focus Rock Pipit, sparkly |
Pretty sure these are Siskins, were several flocks of these and Pipits going west throughout the morning |
Another Stonechat, told you there were a lot |
Goldfinch |
Sparrowhawk flew over the car park while I was changing me boots!! |
Not a bad walk.
Sunday, Margie and I headed to RSPB Pulborough Brooks arriving at 10 AM a brilliant tactical move with a view to enjoy a Raptorfest and not as has been alleged because we wanted a lie in and a leisurely breakfast๐๐๐ฒ!! Good birds we saw and didn't get pics of, Marsh Harrier and Cattle Egret because they were miles away and Firecrest because the bugger wouldn't stay still!! Though I've got quite a few pics of leaves I won't share!๐ข๐ You'll be pleased to note we only saw one Stonechat and didn't get any pics of it๐ A few pics of what we did see below, Margie's will have (M) written under em!

The walk back was fairly uneventful, though we did encounter a flock of Long-tailed Tits, we also saw a Firecrest but couldn't get a picture |
A nice walk in glorious weather, though a bit on the chilly side in the wind!!!!
