Slow one at Seaford

Well first big surprise, a muffled cry from Margie "I'm Up!!!" although think she was regretting the decision as we drove down to Seaford Head in the driving rain!! However things improved as we reached the Barn Carpark, though the sky was pretty brooding!!

Bit worried this lot was coming our way!

Though Margie captured the Sun trying to break through!

Not much about, couple of Pied Wagtail in the Carpark, couple of Stonechats along the top path to Hope Gap with a load of Herring Gulls in the field opposite, with a single Lesser-black Backed Gull in with em.
Hope Gap was quiet, thought I heard some Goldcrests but couldn't find them, Couple of Robins and the usual Dunnocks, Blackbirds and Wrens, some "Vis Mig" with a few Meadow Pipits and some small groups of Finches flying over.

At least the Moon showed ok!

Meadow Pipit

We had a look over the sea at Hope Bottom, couple of Gannets went through, couple of Curlews on the foreshore, a Seal and the best was a Red-throated Diver on the sea. Although arguably the impressive light show was the highlight of the morning!

Red-throated Diver

Think it's moulting out of breeding plumage, hint of a Red Throat

Margie capturing all Seven sisters

Margie reckoned these were sinister eyes!!
Some spectacular sun rays!! Luckily it didn't rain!!
We headed along the cliff top, towards the Cuckmere, were several Skylarks flying about and another couple of Stonechats as we hit the beach there was a big flock of Goldfinch on the teasel with a couple of Greenfinch!

Chiffchaff a few of these about today, but this was the best shot I got, one of those days!

Grey Heron

Teal

Redshank

The path up the Cuckmere was too muddy, so we headed back, as we approached the beach a Kingfisher flashed by and landed on a bush ahead, I was just lining up the perfect shot when the bugger flew off!!😢😡😡😰
So not the award winning shot I was hoping for but you can tell what it is😢although that maybe more to the distinctive plumage rather than the quality of the pic!!

Little Egret

Rock Pipit on the beach

Were 3 or 4 of these along the seaweed line

We had a another play with the Goldfinch on the Teasel

A selection of Margie's Fungi pictures below.

That was about it, the wind was building up, so we called it a day. A slow one for sure, can't all be Red-backed Shrike at point blank range!! Think I've got this one in the bank with the Birding Gods!!!!!!
