Woods Mill

Margie and I went for a Mid-morning walk at the Sussex Wildlife Trust's Woods Mill reserve today, which is only a few minutes from home, was hoping for some Dragonflies and maybe a few birds, was very quiet on the bird front, though did find some Common Redstarts, definitely 2,probably 3, possibly 4, in the paddocks at the back, although to say they were flighty is an understatement didn't get one clean shot!! Though I will have a spot the Redstart Competition in the photos so keep ya wits about ya !!😀😀 Other highlights were a very bright Willow Warbler that I failed to turn into a Wood Warbler, Blackcap, Common Whitethroat, a possible Garden Warbler seen for a fraction of a second but looked right,  several Chiffchaffs and a pair of Bullfinch, all of which I failed to get pics of, man things were flighty today!!! Did have a loud Buzzard fly through at low altitude and a Kestrel perched on a twig, distant though, maybe it was the late start but it was hard work today!! Quite a few Dragonflies and few Damselflies around the main pond which again proved difficult to photograph, due to them failing to sit still for long, the big Blue and Green ones which I think were Migrant/Southern Hawkers didn't stop once and would dart out of the way just as the camera focused when I tried for flight shots!!! A few of Margie and my Shots below with appropriate comments!

An enjoyable couple of hours except for the shyness of the birds, an early morning visit would probably be more productive especially at this time of the year!!
