With a bit of a break in the weather yesterday I decided on a local walk. I headed down Bullfinch Lane across the fields at the end to Bedlam Street and back again. Bearing in mind that I did the same route before Christmas and it was dire Hurst Fail this was more hope against expectation!
However as it turned out it was surprisingly good, where the common stuff was absent last time, this time there were lots of Robins, Dunnocks, Wrens and Blackbirds. A flock of fifty or so Meadow Pipits in the fields before Paykins Farm, lots of Blue and Great Tits, three groups of Long-tailed Tits, several Goldcrests, a few Goldfinch, a couple of Linnets,a couple of Yellowhammers, four Green Woodpeckers, one Great Spotted Woodpecker, a small flock of Reed Buntings which were too quick for pics, three Mistle Thrush, one Redwing, several Song Thrushes including one singing at Cutlers Brook, a pair of Stonechat and the highlight loads of Skylarks in the fields at the end of the lane, singing and chasing each other about, not full on Spring but definitely signs of it! Also saw Snowdrops and Catkins!! Some pics below the weather was fairly grey so pics not the best!

A surprisingly good walk, amazing the difference, between this and the last one around the same route!! Very enjoyable and nice to see a good variety, didn't see any Raptors at all which is unusual, nearly always see a Red Kite and Kestrels are fairly regular. Shame about the dull conditions, reduces picture quality a lot, well having upgraded my camera and lens I can't really blame the equipment for my incompetence so it must be the weather, right!! 😂😂😂😂😂
