Back on the Patch

Quick visit to "The Patch"  off the London Road this morning, very still, grey conditions, very mild. The first field has been ploughed and sown, a few Pigeons and Corvids picking over it, best was a Jay working the edge of the field, usually Jays are pretty flighty so nice this one posed ok! Though the dull conditions made it difficult!!

Headed down "the glades" a bit flitting about here, Dunnock, Wren, Robins a couple of Blackbirds darting about, heard a Bullfinch and eventually tracked it down, feeding in the hedge, it was buried quite deep but got a couple of pics.

At the other end of the glades, there were a small group of Chaffinch, several Great and Blue Tits about but generally quiet, wandered around the patch itself, a couple of Song Thrushes, flyover Green and Great Spotted Woodpeckers, several Blackbirds including a loose flock of about 8 which also had a couple of Fieldfares in with em! Some of the trees also looking pretty good in their Autumnal splendour.

Went out onto Church Lane, not much about here or at the Church, back through the Glades, had been hearing Nuthatches all about and one showed briefly, then had my first Flock of Redwing for the Autumn about 30 though disappeared fairly rapidly!! Also had a fly over Little Egret which was something different.

Back on the first field the Jay was still at it and with slightly brighter conditions got some slightly better pics, were several Pied Wagtails on the field but they stayed distant.

So reasonable couple of hours, hopefully the colder weather will send a few more winter Thrushes down our way, our Cotoneaster is waiting for them!! Or even a Waxwing or two!!

Plenty Berries!!
