Old Lodge

Margie and I had a wander around Old Lodge Nature Reserve last Sunday, was more bird listening than watching, a Woodlark was singing across the road from the Reserve, we also heard but didn't see Crossbills. Merlin came up with Firecrest, but didn't see that either, didn't even hear it!  We did see both Siskin and Redpolls although they were flitting about in the tops of trees. A couple of pairs of Stonechat, Chiffchaffs singing everywhere, but no sign of any Dartford Warblers. The first bird we saw was a Song Thrush, which was very tame, maybe a fledgling!! Not a bad walk the scenery as ever was spectacular, a few pics below!
