Seaford Seawatch

 With South Easterly winds being forecast I was looking forward to a morning Seawatch at Splash Point Seaford. Several other watchers present, which is always handy, the more eyes the better and I would certainly have missed a large amount of what went through on my own, We were halfway up the cliff due to repairs to the breakwater. Without being spectacular it was a pretty good morning, started well with a Bonxie first thing, one of two seen. Other highlights were 6 Arctic Skuas, including a flock of 4 which ripped into a Tern big time, A Black-throated Diver, 4 Little Terns, a few "Commic Terns, several Red-throated Divers, two Great Crested Grebes, three Shelduck and mixed flocks of Whimbrel and Bar-wits. A fair few Med Gulls went through in the first couple of hours and Sandwich Terns increased through the morning. Of interest was a Pale-bellied Brent Goose that went through with a small flock of Dark Bellied. It was also nice to see a large amount of Common Scoter sitting on the sea which milled around a lot, trying to fool me into thinking some were Velvets, with the light flashing of their wings but I'm wise to that these days!!!

With things tailing off, I decided to head up the Cliffs to have a bit of fun with the Kittiwakes giving the opportunity for some pics that are not tiny distant dots!

Always a highlight of the Spring,do love a sesh with the Kittiwakes! Hopefully will manage another Seawatching trip this Spring , hopefully get to see some Poms.
