Yesterday, having watched the Mighty Whites lose to Portsmouth, a combo of sloppy finishing, dodgy ref and a good performance from Pompey. We can't stuff it up again can we? 😱😱Lot's of Déjà vu from last season!😢😢😢 I decided to ease my sorrows with a local walk, heading down Bullfinch Lane in the hope of running into the Barn Owl, that performed so well a couple of weeks ago! No sign, but did find a couple of Yellowhammers, one of which posed ok!

No sign of the Stonechats down the first diversion, though a Robin was singing

Couple of Mistle Thrushes as well, though distant

The Moon showing well

Jack and Jill

Wolstonbury

Yellowhammer a bit distant at first

Bit of patience and my legendary fieldcraft😲😏 got me a bit closer

Eventually headed into cover!

HPP Church

Pied Wagtail, loose flock of at least 11 in one field, though distant

Feral Pigeon

Random Egyptian Goose in a field

The Roebuck was still in the field

Sunsetting no sign of the Owl

Yellowhammer popped out again, but the light was going
Shame the Owl never reappeared though a local, said they'd seen it a couple of days previous so maybe still about! Think there were at least 3 Yellowhammers, but no singing, probably need an early morning visit to get a true picture of  what's about! Several Skylarks singing but pretty muted !!!
