Fairly early start, for another walk around Hurst, the grey cloud seemed to set the tone for what turned out to be a fairly low key walk for Margie and I, the only birds of note in the hedges around the fields behind Kemps were a small flock of Greenfinch, a slightly larger flock of Starlings and a few thrushes mainly Redwings with a few Fieldfares but numbers generally low.

We arrived at the Dung Heap in high anticipation😀 However a Kestrel sitting on top of it must have scared all the birds off because apart from a Robin that was about it.! The Kestrel was nudged into the air by a Crows attentions ,had a bit of a hover as if to say was gonna fly anyway then flew off over the road!

We walked up Langton Lane , couple of Nuthatches and a few Blue Tits but didn't get pics, cut in near the Herrings Stream and looped right round to Northend Lane down Pomper Lane then across the fields a long effort for scant reward a few Fieldfares , a Mistle Thrush and a couple of Goldfinch about it.

Back at the Dung Heap a couple of Wagtails showed alright, a couple of Robins and and three Dunnocks also present back across the fields more Redwing& Fieldfares and a Jay to finish off.

Blooming hard work today over 10000 steps with very little to show for it , grey day and lack of birds not really conducive to good photography hence the fairly poor pics. Nice to be out and I think after all yesterdays birthday cake I needed the exercise!!
